Oooooops I did it again !

Hi Guys and Gals in Stoneland. We are gonna back up a little and give run down on stone problems. all homeowners usually have to call with the same problems over and over again. Mainly the areas of etching on a marble or travertine counter or floor. I'm not being mean here guys but it is a soft stone and many different household products and cleaners will etch it and most builders can't tell you what to clean with or how to take care of it ,  then  I come into play. First of all sealers only slow down staining and some etching they cannot be prevented on soft stone . I've tried everything on the market but alas I can't prevent it . the best way to care for soft stones is a little more care. Sorry but that's it. Also cleaning with a good stone care product from a stone care company will help .These companies design products that do not remove sealers with everyday use and just a little care on cleanup help keep the sealer on longer. A stain is a colored mark on the surface of a stone or tile. an etch mark is a rough feeling usually white color and is a total different feel from the surrounding areas. most of the time they are easy to fix but sometimes ya get a bad boy and he's stubborn. Jewel stone is very capable of getting great results from stain removal and etch removal but please remember every stone is different and every outcome maybe different . These are not problems that require removing or replacing counters , most just need a little time. I hope this helps and please call us when or  before you really need us. yall be cool. Mark T

What Sealer?????????

Good Morning Stone efficianotoes or something like that. It's Mark T again .Well we been busy sealing lotsa stone and Grout lately and It seams as though many installers and tile setters are not sealing your stone or grout. Remember it was invented for a reason. Not every stone needs sealing because some stones are super dense and most stain producing products wont be absorbed FAST. The KEY word FAST. yes I seal almost 95 % of our jobs and it does make a difference in the care of stone. the ones I do not seal are steadfast customers who either do not want a little extra cost or have been told it doesn't need it.

2017 the year of getting it right ?

Well hi there. letting you know that this coming year is going to be cool. Starting with keeping all of your stone and tile clean and sealed  repaired and just plain ready for anything that hurts it. We are starting this today with calcium removal from areas in your pool and coping and Pool decking. the big white line around the inside of your pool is usually calcium and or hard water deposits that stick to a finished that hasn't been sealed properly or with a weak sealer. To seal it right will make water and deposits slide off and not stick to the walls or tiles .

Ya Can't fix stu ! Oh never mind

Hello followers, Sorry it's been a while but i'm back. been doing a lots of repairs on bad installs lately. Just wanted to let you guys know that just because an installer gives you a great price and says he's been doing this for 30 years does not mean necessarily that it's being done correctly. I've noticed that a lot of projects go south because of the wrong products , stone , tile or installers are being used. by that I mean does the floor underneath need sealing or leveling first.
